Introduction to Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security measure designed to protect your login credentials by adding an additional layer of security to the login process. In Thrive, this is via one-time passwords you generate in apps such as Google Authenticator.
In this guide, you’ll learn how to setup MFA in Thrive, on a new login or after an MFA reset.

Tip: If you are having issues with your MFA, see How to Troubleshoot MFA Issues in Thrive
MFA is setup when you login for the first time in Thrive. If you’ve requested a reset for MFA from your profile, or from support, the process is the same.
- Login to Thrive using your email and password.
- Download an authenticator app to your smartphone, such as Google Authenticator.
- Open your authenticator app and tap Add Code → scan QR Code.
- When the camera appears in app, scan the QR Code on-screen from Thrive.
- Once the six-digit code appears in your authenticator, click continue in Thrive.
- Enter the six-digit code, and click Save.
Tip: If you can’t scan the QR code, use the Secret Key beneath the QR code. You can type it into Google Authenticator by tapping Add Code → Enter a setup Key.
